ARTIST BIO
L. E. Turnbull
Art and creativity have been my passion for as long as I can remember. I graduated in 1975 with a B.A. in Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting and ceramics. My plein air painting interest took off while living on beautiful Maui, Hawaii. My goal is to express the feeling of warmth and vibrance of Maui through the luscious color of oil paints. The tropical air and light of the islands gives a great opportunity to have fun and create unique impressionistic works of art.
I have been living and painting in Colorado, it offers a great opportunity for variation from Maui. The mountains and deserts are beautiful. The colors are soulful and western light and textures are a world of difference to the tropics.
